Nike Sportswear will be expanding their lineup with this latest playful “Happy Pineapple” colorway. This offering of the Nike Air Max 95 comes dressed in a mix of tropical colors highlighted with pineapple graphics at the tongue and “94430” embroidered at the forefoot. Peach and Green contrasting accents throughout atop a White midsole with Volt Air supports and Brown speckled outsole completes the design.
To balance the colors that will be used throughout, the model sees a white base and matching midsole. In true Wolverines fashion, the leather toe and half of the wavy overlays are covered in navy. This dark blue shade is also applied to the tongue and lace loops. For contrast, the navy overlays sandwich gold and silver reflective ones to further the Michigan color palette. Reflective materials are found on the heel tab and down the tongue as well. Above the colorway, however, is the appearance of a AIR MAX logo on the insole – one that was widely used throughout the mid-1990s as Nike literally expanded its Air into larger volume units.
A design modification shared with the beloved construction proffers sharp-edge, reinforced overlays across the profiles. On the forthcoming proposition, the reworked Air Max option primarily indulges in a stealthy “Black” palette. Reflective strips that double-up as eye-stays, however, interrupt the tonal arrangement with their light grey scheme. All other branding, save for the logo on the outsole, boasts a covert aesthetic.
Mostly everything in the way of its construction is far more unique. The overlays, for example, are far more brutalist than what the model typical employs; the layered profile and toe cap are entirely removed, replaced with sculpted variations that lean towards futurism in design. Elsewhere, the rest of the upper reminds of the original: the reflective-accented eye stays simply extend farther down, while the mesh top half, tooling, and white-dressed lace unit keep their usual form.
